Rejoining the world and Bunny news

We are getting our internet installed today!!!!

What this means is that our Vonage home phone will work soon and we can call people! If you don't have our phone number and you would like it, please send us an email and we will get it to you.  After Daylight Savings Time began on Sunday we are now 13 hours ahead of the East Coast and 16 hours ahead of the West Coast.

Today I am going into downtown Chinhae (by car) with the base Ombudsman. She has very kindly offered to take me around to do some shopping. There are lots of little stores near the base, but we live WAY up on the top of a hill and it's quite the hike if you are hauling stuff with you.

The bunny has arrived safely in Chinhae after her 5 day quarantine in Incheon. I now understand why she had to be quarantined and it had nothing to do with Rabies. Dogs and Cats, they worry about rabies, but rabbits here are considered farm animals, which is nothing new. Because they are considered farm animals, they could, theoretically be hopping around on a farm... where they might have hoof and mouth disease. Apparently last year 4,000,000 pigs had to be slaughtered due to hoof and mouth disease and they are trying really hard to prevent it from happening again.

Mr. Cho, at the quarantine office was incredibly nice and very, very helpful. Julia Child had a cage to herself inside a building with no other animals, and because it was so cold in the building, Mr. Cho was nice enough to make sure that there was a space heater placed in front of her cage so that she could sit in front of it if she was cold.  She lost a little weight as I think she was pretty freaked out by the whole experience, but we all know, she could stand to loose a few pounds, so she will be okay.

She has a new cage at our house on base and lives in our "play room" as it's labeled on our floor plan document. This is one of the only carpeted rooms in the house, so she likes it quite a lot. We hope to get a living room area rug soon so that she can play with us in there. All in all, she seems like her old self and appears to be settling in well.

More to come later! I am bringing my camera into town today on our shopping trip, so I will take some pictures to show a little better what things look like here.
